Sidney Dewayne Browning's Obituary
Sidney Dewayne Browning, 82 year old, Grove, Oklahoma, resident passed away on Tuesday, Jun 30, 2020.
Sidney was born on April 13, 1948, in Afton, Oklahoma, to Albert and Rachel (Johnson) Browning. He received a master’s degree in education for Northeastern State University. Sid taught for 25 years at Tulsa Webster High School. Sidney was a professional soloist, he loved to sing and everyone loved to listen to him sing during 5th Sunday singings. He sang at the Fairland Lutheran Church, Afton Christian Church and for the senior group “Uniques” as well as the Gideons. Sidney was also an avid fisherman. He loved his dog, Doojie.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanna Browning, his parents Albert & Rachel Browning, and two sons, Montie Browning and Duane Browning.
Sidney is survived by one daughter, Melody McClain and husband Don of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and one great grandchild Tiara Thompson.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 3, 2020, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fairland, Oklahoma. Reverend Leo Schroeder will officiate. Serving as honorary casket bearers will be Todd Elrod, Tony Elrod, Steve Lovelady and Stevie Evinger.
