Shirley Jean Ratliff's Obituary
Shirley Jean Ratliff, 88, a longtime resident of Miami, Oklahoma, passed away at Integris Miami Hospital, on Sunday, July 26, 2026. Shirley was born on December 8, 1937, in Bernice, Oklahoma to Luke and Louise (Matthews) Ash. Shirley graduated from Commerce High School in 1956. Later that year on December 21st she married the love of her life, Chester Ratliff in Grove, Oklahoma. Shirley had many jobs, but her favorite was being a loving mother to her children and supportive wife to Chester. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, upholstery work, and being a Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader. She and Chester shared the same love for cars. They would travel all around attending as many car shows as possible. She was an avid member of the Northwest Baptist Church in Miami. Shirley is preceded in passing by her husband, Chester Ratliff, parents, Luke and Louise Ash, and brother Tom Ash.
Those who will carry on Shirley’s legacy is her daughter Kimberly Elaine Hutson and her husband Lloyd of Miami, her son Martin Luke Ratliff of Buffalo, Missouri, nieces and nephews Mike and Shannon Gunner of Miami, Abe and Sandy Clark of Tulsa, Matt and Misty Ratliff, Gregg and Anessa Ash, Johnny and Tonya Ratliff, Justin Dold, and Jessica Dold, special children Courtney, Julie, Marissa and Clarissa along with her many other nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.
Visitation for Shirley will be 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami on Saturday, August 1, 2026.
Mrs. Ratliff's Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 1, 2026, immediately after the visitation with Reverend Michael Knight officiating. Interment will be private at the Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery.
