Rudolph John Schultz's Obituary
Rudolph John Schultz, 84, a resident of Miami, Oklahoma passed away at Windridge Care and Rehab on Wednesday, October 1, 2014. Mr. Schultz was born on May 4, 1930 in Luxor, Pennsylvania to Rudolph Hans and Evelyn Ruth (Thomas) Schultz. Mr. Schultz was a proud member of the VUMS (Veterans of Underage Military Service) having joined the Navy at the age of fifteen. He later served in the United States Army, serving tours of duty in Korea, Vietnam, and Germany in addition to many stateside postings. He retired in 1968 at Ft. Hood, Texas after twenty years of service. Rudolph then went on to work as a civil service employee for fifteen years before he retired and became an avid golfer. Mr. Schultz was very proud of his military service and keeping in touch with his comrades was very important to him. He regularly attended reunions of the different military units he served with. Rudolph was preceded in passing by his parents Rudolph and Evelyn, his second wife Gladys Faye Schultz and two children Donald Tom (Sonny) Schultz and Tina Lynn Schultz.
Survivors include his first wife Lillian Schultz of Gatesville, Texas, his children Ronnie (Bubba) Schultz of Gatesville, Texas, Sherry Perkins of St. Petersburg, Florida, Gina Nini and her husband Randy of Gatesville, Texas, Rudy Schultz and his wife Ronda of Miami, Oklahoma, Lillian Renner and her husband David of McAllen, Texas, Crystal Williams and her husband Mike of Houston, Texas and Evelyn Watts of Richmond, Texas. Survivors also include twenty-one grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
A Memorial service will be held in Gatesville, Texas on Sunday, November 2, 2014 followed by interment at Texas Veterans Cemetery at Killeen, Texas. Please check the funeral homes website for updates at www.brown-winters.com.
