Our last two 440th Signal Battalion Alumni reunions were not the same without Rudy, he had an infectious grin that kept everyone wondering what he was. going to do next. I met him in Albany, New York in 2010, that was when I learned Texas geography. South Carolina was actually east Texas, Rudy straightened the whole ting out for me. By far the most hilarious memory was in Nashville. Rudy and Rocky were waiting by the second floor lobby waiting for the elevator. Not wanting to miss a chance at having fun with someone, Rudy turned to me and started to say something, not seeing that the elevator door had opened, Rocky entered the elevator and the door closed. Yes, Rudy was quick to let loose of the vanishing leash. He took it in stride and it all ended well. He will be missed, but his stories and life will live on through his battle buddies.
