Rose was my teaching partner for several years as we both taught third grade. We took our classes on field trips together. If I was called away from my class for a brief bit Rose would cover watching both of our classes. We worked well together and there were never disagreements between us. She was such a fine Christian lady. When we had some after school devotional times she always offered some thoughtful words or a prayer. She had serious health problems even during her teaching years and yet she never complained. On my last day with my third graders, Rose and her class joined in with my class in singing and doing the actions to my declared retirement song. We had some good times together. My only regret is that I had not kept in touch with her as much as I should have. I still have the urge to go call Rose and see how things are going. We will see each other again. She has just gotten a head start and thankfully is no longer suffering nor struggling for breath.
