James Lee Stanley, 84, a longtime Miami resident, passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, surrounded by his family. James was born in Miami to Luther Joel and Edith Rosetta (House) Stanley. On August 18, 1962, in Read Obituary
James once told me “ I’m at the age where if I fall down , I look around and see what can I do while I’m down here.” Thought it was funny and I’ve always remembered that.
My cousin James was a calm and warm man with a subtle sense of humor. Taking after his dad, he was quite the handy man as well as an avid outdoorsman. Duck hunting was one of his passions and there wasn’t much he didn’t know about firearms. I still remember him taking me duck hunting when I was still a teenager; the only duck hunt I ever went on. A strong man of faith, devoted husband and father, and all around good and decent man. While we’ll miss his presence in our lives for now, I take comfort in knowing he stood beside our Lord Jesus and was met with quite the welcoming party upon his arrival home in Heaven. I’m confident he’s in infinitely better hands now and will be there ready to welcome us home when our time here is done.
