Imogene Belle Pryor's Obituary
Imogene Belle “Jean” Pryor, 88, passed away August 28, 2015. She was born on January 9, 1927 to Fleming Frances “Flem” and Lillie Belle (Collins) Smithson in Picher, Oklahoma. She graduated from Picher High School in 1944 and attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. She married Willard Arnold Pryor in Picher, Oklahoma in 1945. Jean was a member of First Baptist Church and was Pastor’s Secretary for thirty-seven years. Known for her wit and wry smile, Jean was famous for her award-winning Pecan Pie and Divinity. Mrs. Pryor was preceded in passing by her parents Flem and Lillie, her husband Willard Pryor, son and daughter-in-law Dwight and Jeanette Pryor and her sisters, Maxine Edmondson and Geraldine Horn.
Survivors include her grandson Benjamin Pryor and his wife Erin Pryor and their children Gavin and Emory Pryor all of Dayton, Ohio,, a niece Gayle Cater of Broken Arrow, a niece Donita Thompson of Euless, Texas, her nephew Jim Horn of Thor, Iowa, her brother in law Duaine Pryor of Olathe, Kansas and sister-in-law Phyllis Prickett.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time at First Baptist Church’s Chapel on Friday, September 4, 2015.
Services are 2:00 PM Friday, September 4, 2015 at First Baptist Church’s Chapel with Reverend Rick Longcrier officiating. Interment will follow at Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami.
