Gary Sims Funk's Obituary
Gary Sims Funk, 78, a resident of Wyandotte, Oklahoma passed away at his home on Thursday, March 26, 2015. Gary was born on December 4, 1936 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Robert DuVall and Pauline (Sims) Funk. Mr. Funk moved to the Fairland area at a young age and was known for his carpentry work and his love for old cars. He owned a cabinet shop and worked as a building contractor for many years building homes in the area, he also owned a gas station at one time and B&G Automotive in Fairland. He enjoyed street rods and was a lifelong member of the NSRA. Gary was also known to play a little guitar, banjo and a couple songs on the piano. Mr. Funk was preceded in passing by his parents Robert and Pauline Funk and two wives Carol Funk his wife of twenty-five years and Kathleen Funk his wife of eighteen years.
With fifty six years of marriage his family grew to a very large loving family, survivors are his wife of thirteen years Vicki Funk, his children, Brian Funk and his wife Melanie, Brenda Cole and her husband Monroe, Victor Audrine, Mary Neal and her husband Roy, Pat DaSilva and her husband Rob, Heather Williams and her husband Michael, Kasey Heiller and her husband Shaun, Kelly Smith and her husband Michael, his grandchildren, Jeremy Funk and his wife Chelsey, Jessica Whitsett and her husband Bobby, Jacob Funk, Jolinda Funk, JaCe Funk, Kassie Patton and her husband Jamie, Jennifer Cole, Jaclyn Green and her husband Daniel, Amber VanCuren and her husband Dustin, Brad Neal, Kristen DaSilva Sophia Williams, Simon Williams, Tonya Heiller, Alexandra Heiller, Morgan Heiller, Cathryn Heiller, Major Smith and Ainsley Smith along with thirteen great grandchildren.
The family would like to invite everyone to a dinner celebration and visitation at Cutting Edge Ministries, 342 Goodrich Blvd. from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2015.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM on Monday, March 30, 2015 at Fairland Cemetery with Pastor Monroe Cole officiating. Services are under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairland.
