My very good friend that was always there for me. We knew we could depend on each other. He will be greatly missed.. From Gene Shumaker
A kind hearted man who always smiled .
Well here goes, I was the ripe old age of 8-9 when I first met Gary Funk!!! He was/is one of my dads best friends. I remember them working together on different jobs. Well this particular day my dad came home from work, and said that we were going to go to his friends house, so we loaded up in truck and started off to Gary's house. On the way there, my dad told me that he was and Indian, and he was mean!! The only thing I knew about Indians at that time was that they used to scalp people. Anyways my dad mentioned he might try to scalp me, because I had really pretty blonde hair. When we got to Garys house he just so happened to be outside chopping something up with a tomahawk!!! Yikes:) I'm pretty sure I never got out of the truck!!!

Gary had such wit and humor and I generally always left his and Vicky's home in laughter. I will miss him but I'm sure that humor continues on in heaven. Love to you Vicky.

Brenda, Thinking of you in your time of sorrow. May God comfort your heart during this time. You know we lost Bill August 27, 2014. Prayers, family, and friends help. To be absent from the body is to be with the LORD. Love You, Shirley Dry
Ron and I so enjoyed spending time with Gary and Vicki. We had the pleasure of having them in our home and going to Cheddars for dinner. Gary's personality and character was so much like Ron they could have been made from the same mold. Such an awesome friend and Godly example to others. We will truly miss this dear friend. Heaven has gained a precious soul. Love you Vicki. I'm here for you. Prayers to the Cole family. We love you all.
I loved Gary's sense of humor. He could turn the most simplest of conversations into moments of laughter. Since I grew up in Fairland and Gary and my Dad were friends he knew me by my maiden name Brenda Walker. This is how he would always greet me at church. I'm gonna miss that and his big ole smile but his memory will live on forever.
