Jerry was a good friend and a good history teacher the times that I was working at McAuley high school. he was loved by all the students and also he was always losing his glasses for sure always on top of his head. he will be missed my condolences to his family
I was fortunate enough to have known Mr. Cherry as a history teacher, asst basketball coach and a great conversationalist. Some of my fondest high school memories are with him. I enjoyed talking to him in class, before games and we always got a kick out of his BF Goodrich stories.
Before our district championship basketball game he let out these final words before we took the court, "boys, go out and win this game tonight and you will never forget this moment for the rest of your lives." He was right on! We won and I will never forget that moment. I pray you find your way to Gods loving arms. Good bye Mr. Cherry.

Mr. Cherry was a wonderful teacher. He was truly my favorite! I looked forward to his History class every day. Not only did he make learning fun but he also shared many personal life stories with us and it made him more relatable as a teacher. Mr. Cherry was hilarious and down to earth. He was kind and caring. Mr. Cherry you will certainly be missed, but you will never be forgotten! You will live on in the stories I will tell about you. May you rest in peace.
Mr. Cherry was one of my favorite teachers of all time. He was very kind-hearted and a wonderful story-teller. My thoughts & prayers are with his family. He was truly unique.
