William Harold Watson's Obituary
William Harold Watson, age 87, of Miami, Okla., passed away at his home on Friday, January 20, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 4, 1929 in Atkins, Arkansas to John and Marie (Gregory) Watson. Harold cared deeply for his family and friends. He was known for being a hardworking man, and it showed in the way he maintained the family farm. In his retirement years, he raised and raced Thoroughbred horses. He was a man of many stories, and his family loved to listen to him tell about his life and adventures when he was growing up. He married Laura A. Ratley, and they enjoyed 50 years of marriage. Together, they enjoyed fellowship at the Mound Valley Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Paul Curtis Watson; one brother, Wayne Watson; and four sisters, Lavada Isaacs, LoAnna Adams, Joyce Stevens, and Geneva Watson. He is survived by his wife, Laura Watson, of the home; 2 sons, Albert Watson and wife Cinda of Granby, Missouri, and Tom Watson and wife Jackie of Inman, South Carolina; two stepsons, Bruce Bohnisch of Miami, Okla., and Jess Oakley of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; 2 daughters, Jara King and husband Thomas of Miami, Okla., and Michelle Dunn of Coquilla, Oregon; one brother, Jessie Watson of Claremore, Okla.; one sister, Johnnie Marie of Springdale, Arkansas; four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Harold's memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 23, 2017 at the Mound Valley Baptist Church.
