William Theodore Stephens' Obituary
William Theodore Stephens, 62, of Elk City, OK, passed away Thursday evening, April the 9th, 2026, at the Oklahoma University Medical Center in Edmond.
He was born October the 11th, 1963, in Cottage Grove, OR to David and Arlene (Mohler) Stephens.
William was a truck driver for many years. He then owned and operated his own auto detailing business.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR, gardening, and small engine repair. He also enjoyed spending time with his German Shepherd, George.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, William "Joey" Stephens; three siblings, David, Martin, and Virginia Stephens; and a nephew, Jesse Stephens.
He is survived by his significant other, Connie Cain; his children, Jeanetta Rakes and husband Wesley of Oswego, KS, and Scott Cain and wife Hadley, Matt Cain and wife Susan, John Cain nd wife Toni, and Jake Cain and wife Samantha; his siblings, Wanda Tucker, Hazel Swinney, Christine Stephens, Lavena Folk, Brenda Fullhart, James Stephens, Irita Long, Richard Stephens, Davida Powell, and Floyd Stephens; 16 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, April the 16th, 2026, at the Thomas & Chenoweth Funeral Home Chapel in Welch. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April the 17th, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Melrose, KS. Casket bearers will be Jack and Tyler Getman, Matthew and James Stephens, and Kenneth and Jess Swinney.
