William Miller's Obituary
William "Bill" Miller, 80, of Wilburton, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.
Viewing will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the Jones Harkins Funeral Home, Wilburton, Oklahoma with Dr. Paul Brady officiating.
The committal service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the Lake Creek Cemetery in Bartlett, Kansas under the direction of Thomas & Chenoweth Funeral Home, Welch, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be Amanda Story, Emily Miller, Jake Shelby, Jacy Shelby, Jack Shelby, and Danny Story. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Rudd, George Royce, Jr, Ken and Jerri Marley, Ron and Mary Henry, Roy and Karen Vieux.
Bill was born on March 14, 1941 in Oswego, Kansas to Wayne Miller and Mildred (Rudd) Miller. He married Patsy Harlin on August 19, 1962 in Chetopa, Kansas. William joined the United States Army in 1962, serving in Korea, and received an honorable discharge in 1965. William worked as an educator at Eastern Oklahoma State College from 1975 to 2000.
He is survived by his wife: Patsy (Harlin) Miller of Wilburton; his son: Michael Miller and wife, Karen of Frisco, Texas; his daughter: Cheryl Shelby and husband, Donnie of Acworth, GA; his five grandchildren: Amanda Story and husband, Danny, Emily Miller, Jake Shelby, Jacy Shelby, and Jack Shelby; his cousin: Joe Rudd and wife, Kathy of Fredonia, Kansas; and niece: Karen Shrum Cook and husband, Jim of Wyandotte, Oklahoma.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents: Wayne and Mildred Miller; and his sister: Judy Shrum.
