William Burt Cannon's Obituary
William Burt Cannon, 66, of Miami, Okla., passed away Saturday morning, August 24, 2019, at Freeman West in Joplin, MO, after a long illness. He was born May 12, 1953 in Hopkinsville, KY to Dennis Malone Cannon and Mary Edith (Yates) Cannon.
He was a high school graduate. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. He studied criminal justice for a time and then attended Vo-Tech where he obtained his Licensed Practical Nurse certification. He also studied with an Apache medicine man due to his interest in the Indian culture. He worked in mental health at Eastern State Hospital. He was also a certified Emergency Medical Technician as well as a storm spotter. He loved animals, cooking, reading, and beadwork.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Ronda Cannon, of the home; two daughters, Courtney Cannon of Miami, and Nichole Cannon of Kansas City, MO; one brother, James Cannon of Hutchinson, KS; one sister, Beverly Maltbie of Corvallis, OR; and he was the very proud grandfather of Chance Ervin and Dartanyen Keene.
