William Jack Brown's Obituary
William Jack Brown, 92, a resident of Miami passed away on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Windridge Care and Rehab. Jack was born on January 27, 1925 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma to Warren Jackson and Myrtle (Bunch) Brown. Mr. Brown was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Army Air Corp and attained the rank of Sergeant. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Southeastern State University, then his Master’s Degree from Oklahoma State University. On August 11, 1951 he married Barbara Ross, she survives of the home. He worked as a school superintendant. He and Barbara are members of First United Methodist Church in Miami, he was also a member of the Lions Club. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Myrtle Brown and his sister Clarece Taylor.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-five years Barbara Brown of the home, his daughter Cindy Berno of North Richland Hills, Texas, Steve Brown and his wife Cindy of Miami, his grandchildren Kevin Brown of Oklahoma City, Keith Brown of Joplin, Sean Berno and his wife Felicia of Euless, Texas, Shaundra Roth and her husband Jake of Kissimmee, Florida, a sister Bonnie Brown and Brother Bob Brown along with his grandchildren Evan, Avery and Dyven Berno.
Services are 10:00 AM Monday, March 13, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church in Miami with Reverend Mark Rickman officiating. Interment will follow at the Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery. Tinker Airforce Base Honor Guard will perform Military Honors. Services are under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami.
Casketbearers will be Kevin Brown, Keith Brown, Ronnie Cline and Jonathan Arnold.
The family has asked that memorial contributions be made the First United Methodist Church’s Building Fund.
