Wayne Hauser Kays' Obituary
Wayne Hauser Kays passed from this life on January 2, 2017. He was born August 16, 1928 in Pryor, Oklahoma, the 10th child of George Cleveland Kays and Carrie Myrtle (Laurie) Kays. He graduated high school from Lamar, Missouri, where he participated in sports, FFA and other school activities. He met and married Shirley Margaret (Morris) Kays in Leavenworth, Washington in 1949 and they were the parents of three children, Ronald Wayne Kays, Kenneth David Kays, and Icle Michele (Kays) Drummond. Wayne and Shirley lived in Riverton, Kansas prior to moving to Welch Oklahoma. Wayne worked at B.F. Goodrich for 22 years and farmed on the side, before leaving Goodrich and farming full time in the early 70's. He retired from farming and they moved to Sand Springs, Oklahoma in 2007. Wayne was an active member of Welch Christian Church and served as a Deacon, Elder and Sunday School Superintendent, and teacher for many years. After moving to Sand Springs, he became a member of Osage Hills Christian Church. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, all of his brothers, Carl Kays, H. Clifford Kays and George Kenneth Kays, his sisters, Nora Lee, Icle Green, Maude Reeves and Ethylene Reeves, and two unnamed infants; Nephews Hobart Lee, Gary Lee, Clifford "Bud" Kays, Leon Kays and Jerry Kays; Nieces Dorothy Lee and Betty (Reeves) Cowen. Wayne is survived by his son, Ron Kays and wife Beverly, of Grove, Oklahoma; Grandson, Jason Kays and wife Shelley, and their children, Parker Kays and Abby Kays, Granddaughter Jennifer Ratcliff and husband Jay, and their children Kade and Kenzie; son, Ken Kays and wife Connie, of Vinita, Oklahoma; daughter, Michele Drummond and husband George, of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; Granddaughter Shelby Corsentino and husband, Rustin and soon to be born son, Knox; Grandson Trace Drummond and his fiancé, Jessica Grace of Ringling, Oklahoma. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. As per the deceased's request, no services are being planned at this time.
