Wanda Kimrey's Obituary
Wanda Mae Kimrey, 86, of Bernice, Okla., passed away at Journey Home Hospice in Bartlesville on November 21, 2019. She was born August 23, 1933 in rural Welch, OK to Cryil Clinton West and Lorene Marie (Smith) West.
On March 14, 1954, Wanda married the love of her life, Billy Lee Kimrey, in a ceremony at the Bethel Baptist Church in Craig County, Okla.
She worked for First National Bank in Coffeyville, Kans. for several years before going to work in the 1960's as an accountant at First Federal Bank in Coffeyville, Kans., where she retired from. She loved living on the lake. She also loved sewing, fishing, arts and crafts, cooking, and most of all, her grandkids. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Afton.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy, on October 14, 2019; her parents; a grandson, Daniel Lee Kimrey; and a sister, Lula Mae Alsop.
She is survived by four children, Lee Kimrey and wife Coleen of Bernice, Jerry Kimrey and wife Cindy of Lenapah, Anna Best and husband Darrell of Wann, and Lilly Mae Kimrey of Tulsa; 2 siblings, Jim West of Arizona, and Mary Bilby and husband Don of Humbolt, Kans.; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at the First Baptist Church in Afton. Pastor Todd Wieneke will officiate. She will be laid to rest next to Billy in the Edna Elm Grove Cemetery, Edna, Kans. The family will greet friends at the Thomas & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Welch, from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, November 26.
Casket bearers will be Jeff and Clinton Hilderbrand, Ryan and John Bilby, Levi and Darrell Best, and Gary Sykes.
