Wally Ellison's Obituary
Wally Ellison, 86, a longtime Miami resident, passed away at Windridge Care and Rehab on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. He was born on October 29, 1938 in Miami to Barney and Ruby (Heistand) Ellison. He graduated from Miami High School with the Class of 1956. On March 28, 1959 in Miami, he married the love of his life Judy Lynn Sellars. Wally worked at Goodrich until its closing and then worked in the Miami Wal-Mart in the Automotive Department where he became the manager of that department. Wally and Judy loved their country life. Wally enjoyed farming and working his cattle. He was also a long-time member of the Miami First Christian Church. Wally was the best girl dad that his girls could have ever asked for. Wally was preceded in passing by his wife Judy Ellison, and daughter Becky Ellison.
Survivors include his daughters, Diane Dodson and her husband Kirk of Broken Arrow, Gina Villalobos and her husband Richard of Kona, Hawaii and Julie Ellison of Vinita, two granddaughters Kassandra Dodson and fiancé Ronico Thompson of Broken Arrow, along with Shana Grandstaff and her husband Phil of Glenpool, Oklahoma.
The family would like to thank Integris Hospice especially, Missy, Melissa, Temple, and Brian for the compassionate care that was given to Wally.
Visitation will be on Friday, April 25, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami.
Services will be 3:30 PM, Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service’s Chapel. Interment will follow at Fairland Cemetery with Minister Leon Weece officiating.
