Thomas Davis Hoffstatter's Obituary
Thomas Davis Hoffstatter, of Grove, OK, passed away Sunday evening, February the 9th, 2025, in Grove. He was 91 years old.
Tom was born May the 26th, 1933 in Milwaukee, WI to Edward William Hoffstatter and Audry (Davis) Hoffstatter. He graduated from high school in Succasunna, NJ. He then attended Clemson University, and later, the University of Connecticut.
While in high school, Tom was active in the ROTC program. While still in college, he was drafted into the military as an officer. He served in the United States Army and later the Army Reserve. While in the Army, he demonstrated and trained others all over the United States in the use of the Honest John Rocket.
On September the 17th, 1960, he married the former Helen Riffle in a ceremony in Woodville, OH. Tom worked many years as a salesman in the fiberglass industry, selling fiberglass to the boating and oil industry.
In his spare time, he enjoyed boating and spending hours in the garage tinkering with anything that was broken, always fixing it to use again. He also loved to help people. For 48 years, he was an encourager to many people toward their road to sobriety. He was always a friend to everyone he met, and he was sure to call you "Tiger". He always referred family members as "sweethearts".
He is preceded in death by his parents, and a sister in law, Judy Hoffstatter.
He is survived by his wife Helen; four children, Tom Hoffstatter (Elsie) of Grove, OK, Amy McCoy of Tulsa, OK, Daniel Hoffstatter (Summer) of Norman, OK, and Eric Hoffstatter (Lois) of Noble, OK; two siblings, Edward William Hoffstatter (Judy) of Wilton, CT, and Rodney Hoffstatter of Tulsa, OK; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He will be laid to rest in the NEO Veterans Cemetery following a private graveside service.
