Steve Wright's Obituary
R. Stephen “Steve” Wright, a Miami resident passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at his home. Steve was born on November 20, 1955 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Robert W. and Juanita (Hurn) Wright. Mr. Wright married his wife Kathryn Joann Post on November 28, 1981. He worked as a plant manager for J & M Foods in Miami. He loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, working in his yard or camping with the Scouts. He was a Scout Master for his sons’ Boy Scout Troop #55 in Miami. He also enjoyed the challenge of brewing different types of beer with friends. The family is members at the First United Methodist Church in Miami where Steve also taught Sunday school for the high school and adult classes for many years. He was preceded in passing by his parents Robert and Juanita Wright.
He is survived by his wife Kathy Wright of the home and three sons Shaun William Wright of Oklahoma City, Derek Neal Wright of Miami, Dustin Stephen Wright and his wife Brittney Renea, their daughter Caroline Madison Wright of Tulsa, and his sister Elizabeth Andrews of Fort Worth, Texas.
Celebration of Life Services will be Friday, May 24, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Reverend David Wheeler officiating. Cremation Services have been placed in the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Boy Scout Troop #55, the First United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
