Stanley Paul Deewall's Obituary
Stanley Paul Deewall, 88, of rural Welch, Okla., passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020. He was born July 12, 1931 in Coldwater, Kans. to Hiram Paul Deewall and Rachel Ray (Bird) Deewall.
He was a high school graduate. He attended OSU for one year. On November 11, 1950, he married Dorothy Jean Sooter. To this union, four children were born.
In 1965, Stanley moved to Craig County, Okla. where he began his career farming and ranching. On March 5, 1971, he married the former Betty Tadlock. Together, they enjoyed the farm life, farming their land and raising their cattle. Even though farming and ranching were his love, he also worked at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant and Leon's Coal Company before retiring. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Welch Methodist Church. He also served on the board of the Soil Conservation District, FSA, and Farm Bureau.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Scott Deewall; 2 daughters, Paulette McConnell and Tonia Anconetani; 2 brothers, Ralph and Orville; and a sister, Pauline Gilchrist.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, of the home; 2 sons, Bradley Deewall and wife Gale of Halstead, Kans., and Greg Briley of Bartlesville, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; a special friend, Tony Allison; as well as a host of friends.
The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, at the Thomas & Chenoweth Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 15, also at the funeral home. Pastor Ralph Heiney will officiate. Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Dale Tullis, V.O. Morgan, Bill Lester, Don Gideon, Justin Gideon, and Tony Allison.
