Sherry Thelma Johnston's Obituary
Sherry Thelma Johnston, 70, a resident of Iberia, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026. Sherry was born in Richland, Missouri, on December 24, 1955, to Leslie and Lorene (Moshier) Plemmons. Sherry graduated from Iberia High School with the class of 1973. She would later marry James Johnston, and together they would spend many wonderful years together. Most people remember Sherry selling Home Interiors & Gifts for many years. She then worked as a bookstore manager at Stonecrest Book and Toy for eighteen years and later for Miller County Health Center assisting families with WIC. When she was not working, she was an avid scrapbooker and photographer. She was always known for her beautiful handwriting and having a huge heart. Sherry is preceded in passing by her parents, Leslie and Lorene Plemmons, her twin sisters Joyce and JoAnn Plemmons, sister Stacey Plemmons and her grandson, Joseph Smolich.
Those left to share the beautiful memory of Mrs. Johnston include her husband, James Johnston, step-mother Wilma Plemmons, children, Misty Duncan and her husband Preston, Jacob Lutrell and his wife Sarah, Courtney Luttrell, Lillian Luttrell, Beckie Wells and her husband Jason, James Allen Johnston, brother, Mickey Plemmons and his wife Kim, grandchildren, Tyler Shreve, Abbigail Heenan (Rich), Wyatt Duncan (Shelby), Isaac Duncan, Shauntee Luttrell, Arthur Winkle, Taylor Wells, Kelsey Wells, Traytyn Wells, Maci Wells, great grandchildren, Jameson Heenan, Sadie Heenan, Porter Duncan, and Landry Duncan, along with beloved best friends, Michael and Judy Harrison and children Amy and Andy.
Mrs. Johnston’s wishes were for cremation. Services have been placed in the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairland, Oklahoma. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date back home in Missouri.
