Sherry Francine James' Obituary
Longtime Welch resident, Sherry Francine James, 57, passed away October 12, 2013, at her home, after a sudden illness. Sherry was born December 13, 1955 in Welch to Francis R. and Lora Ellen (Ferrell) James. Sherry graduated from Welch High School with the Class of 1975. Sherry was a member of the Welch Baptist Church. She was a proud grandmother and greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, who she dearly loved. She also enjoyed photography and was an avid collector of angels and cookbooks. For many years, Sherry was self-employed, cleaning many homes in the Welch area. Sherry was known by everyone in the Welch community and it was a joy to just be able to visit with her. Sherry was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by one son, Kelsie McClendon, of Neosho, MO, one sister, Barbara Young, of Claremore, OK, one brother, Doug James and wife Tammy of Miami, OK, two grandchildren, Mikayla McClendon, of Wyandotte, OK and Izabelle McClendon, of Bismark, AR, three nieces, Lora Young, of Tulsa, OK, Lindsay James, of Moore, OK, Whitney Hill, of Edmond, OK, and one nephew, Trevor James, of The Village, OK. The family will receive friends at the home of Doug and Tammy James. A visitation will be held at the Thomas Funeral Home in Welch on Tuesday, October 15, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Services will be held in the Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Welch on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. Steve Kropp will officiate. Burial will follow in the Welch City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kelsie McClendon, Corey Hitz, Josh Rutledge, Larry Layton, Shayn McCleary, and J.D. McCleary.
