Sharon Kay Newman's Obituary
Sharon Kay Newman passed away on Wednesday, October 24th, peacefully at her home in Miami, Okla. She was 69 years old. Sharon was born March 19,1943 in Alvin, Texas to Hale and Zella Goins. She grew up in Afton, Okla., then married her one true love, the late Paul Dean Newman on October 28, 1962. Sharon and Paul spent their lives together and raised their family in Miami. They enjoyed many wonderful years together. Sharon was a devoted wife, mother and according to all who knew her, the most loyal and trustworthy friend you could ever find. Her sweet and gentle nature left a lasting impression on all. She never spoke an unkind word. She was always cheerful, positive and continuously lifting the spirits of those around her. She loved to cook, loved animals, gardening, being outdoors and most importantly to her, taking care of her family. Sharon was employed at the Baptist Village as a housekeeper for over 13 years and especially enjoyed the relationships she formed with the residents there. She always made time for anyone who needed to talk and helping others was a top priority throughout her life. Love and respect for others was mirrored in her every action. Sharon was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul Dean Newman, parents Hale and Zella Goins and brother, Bill Goins. She is survived by two daughters, Angela Walters of Miami and Amy Hemphill and her husband Mickey, of Miami; one sister, Marsha Ratzloff, of Tulsa, Okla., five grandchildren, Alexandra Galloway, Chloe Walters, Clarissa Walters, Bailey Hemphill and Nicholas Hemphill. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 27th at 10:00 a.m. at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, Okla. Chaplain Lee Hilliard will officiate. A private burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Afton, Okla. Arrangements entrusted to Jim Thomas, Thomas Funeral Home, Welch, Okla.
