Royce Lee Ayres' Obituary
Royce Lee Ayres, a lifelong resident of Bluejacket, OK, passed away at his home early Sunday morning, March the 23rd, 2025, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Vinita, OK on March the 2nd, 1948, to his parents, Richard Ayres and Ruby (Beehler) Ayres. He was a graduate of Bluejacket Public Schools.
He was married to Susan (Holley) Ayres for 44 years prior to her passing in 2024. He worked for B.F. Goodrich in Miami for 16 years. He then worked in the construction field for 10 years.
Royce loved sports at every level. For the past 40 years, he was an umpire for high school baseball and softball, and a basketball referee, calling games all over the northeast Oklahoma area.
Over the course of his failing health, he was cared for by a grandson, Stephen, and his wife Courtney. They worked diligently day and night to see that all his needs were met.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife.
He is survived by his children, Kristi Stewart (Robert) of Louisville, KY, Chad Ayres of Bluejacket, Holly John, Melissa McGinty (Greg) of Miami, OK, and Laura Harper (Jeff) of Franklin, TN; a brother, Aaron Ayres (Fay) of Miami, OK; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and 4 nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held when a date and time are determined.
