Robert D. Coons' Obituary
Robert D. Coons, 81, of Oswego, Kansas, passed away late Thursday evening, August 9, 2018, at Freeman West in Joplin, Missouri following a long illness. He was born June 19, 1937 in Mecca, CA to Eldo Jess Coons and Ruby Lloyd (Allison) Coons. Robert served for several years in the Army National Guard. He owned and operated his own RV manufacturing business for over 30 years. He loved to fish, gamble, and spend time with his family.He is preceded in death by his wife, Jeanie Coons; three brothers, Eldo, Jr. (Bud), Cecil, and Charles; one sister, Meldred Brown; one great grandson and one great granddaughter.He is survived three sons, Steven of Port Aransas, TX, Kenneth of Dell City, TX, and Gregg of Norco, CA; a step daughter, Sheryl Bible of Vinita; a sister, Roberta Bentley of Oswego, Kansas; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.In keeping with Robert's wishes, he was cremated and no formal services will be held. However, the family will greet friends on Sunday, August 12, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Mae Lessley Community Building in Chetopa, Kansas.
