Robert H. Blackburn's Obituary
Former Welch, Oklahoma resident, Robert H. "Bob" Blackburn, 82, of Tulsa, OK, passed away May 19, 2014 at Franciscan Villa in Broken Arrow, OK. Bob was born November 28, 1931 to Joseph Thomas and Clara Ethel (Duvall) Blackburn. He was a graduate of Welch High School and attended OSU in Stillwater. He served his country with the United States Army from October of 1949 until January of 1953. He was employed as a Motel Night Clerk for many years. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, J.T. and 1 sister, LeeAnn. He is survived by 3 sons, Robert H. Blackburn II, of Tulsa, Stephen Blackburn, of Austin, TX, and David Watson, of Tulsa; 2 grandchilden; 1 brother, Michael Melton of Vinita; 2 sisters, Kay D. McKelvey and Janet Doris, both of Tulsa; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Welch, OK. Reverend M.E. Cashen will officiate. Interment at Welch City Cemetery, Welch, OK.
