Richard E. Ayres' Obituary
Richard Elvin Ayres, 89, a lifelong resident of Bluejacket, Okla., passed away late Sunday evening, June 10, 2018, at Integris Miami Hospital after an illness. Richard was born July 17, 1928 in Bluejacket to Ray Ayres and Violet (Barrett) Ayres. He was a graduate of Bluejacket High School. He was married to Ruby Beehler for several years and they had two sons together. Later on, he married Shirlene Ferguson. She preceded him in death.He worked for B.F. Goodrich in Miami for 33 years before retiring. Even with full time job of building tires, he still maintained the family farm, a job he enjoyed most of all. He also loved to hunt and fish. He is preceded in death by his second wife, Shirlene, and one sister, Betty May Williams.He is survived by his first wife, Ruby Hollandsworth of Bluejacket; two sons, Royce Ayres and wife Susan of Bluejacket, and Aaron Ayres and wife Fay of rural Miami; one brother, Don Ayres of Brenham, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.A graveside service will be held at the Bluejacket Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018.Arrangements were entrusted to the Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Welch.
