Raymond Everett Boyd's Obituary
Raymond Everett Boyd, 77, of Welch, passed away Monday, September 28, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born April 29, 1938 in Chetopa, KS to Ray T. Boyd and Goldie (Ventle) Boyd. He was a graduate of Chetopa High School. On December 24, 1959, he married Marlene Miller at the Welch Methodist Church. She survives of the home. Raymond worked for David Miller in his welding shop for a number of years. He then worked for the B.F. Goodrich Tire Company in Miami for 23 ½ years. After the plant closed, he became a self-employed mechanic, specializing in farm equipment repairs. He loved being on his farm and driving his Kawasaki Mule through his pastures to check his cattle. He also loved fishing and quail hunting. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Judy Chambler Early and Ruth Anderson. Raymond is survived by his wife, Marlene, of the home; two daughters, Tamara Tynon and husband Scott, of Welch, Dana Scott and husband Chuck, of Welch; one granddaughter, Amanda Scott of Welch; five grandsons, Chase Mayfield of Welch, Wade Mayfield of Sallisaw, Jesse Tynon of Welch, Jerrod Tynon of Welch, and Jake Tynon of Miami; three great-grandchildren, Miranda Mayfield, Dakota Mayfield, and Jackson Tynon; two sisters, Betty Nicholson of Plano, TX, and Retha Miller of Welch; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the Thomas Funeral Home in Welch. Pastor John Dorsey will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, September 30, 2015 at the home of Scott and Tamara Tynon, 444529 East 70 Road, Welch, OK.
