Phylis Jean McElhany's Obituary
Phylis Jean McElhany, resident of Quapaw, OK., passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at her home. She was 84 years old. Was a homemaker in her own home. She was born on December 4, 1928 in Sand Springs, OK., to Fred and Grace (Frazier) Wright. She married Claude McElhany on October 20, 1954. Phylis was a member of the Peoria Assembly of God church. Phylis is survived by two daughters: Belinda Rich and spouse Bill of Broken Arrow, OK., and Betty Labibang and spouse Louis of Quapaw, OK., one brother: George Bradshaw and spouse Arleta of Wyandotte, OK., and two brothers-in-law; Gerald Shiflett of Wyandotte, OK., and Lonnie McElhany and spouse Bonnie of Miami, OK.; Six grandchildren; Amber Bradley, Mike Rich, Steve Rich, Melissa Rich, Rocki Wahl and Jim Cunningham. Also seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one son, Curts Roberts; one daughter Carol Kerr; by two brothers and a sister and one granddaughter, Stoni Talley. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Adcock Funeral Home Chapel in Fairland, OK. with Rev. Calvin Ackerson and Louise Pennington officiating. Interment will be at the Council House Cemetery in Ottawa County, Saturday, March 23, 2013. Services are under the direction of Adcock Funeral Home in Fairland.
