Paula Dian Tedlock's Obituary
Paula Dian Tedlock, 65, a longtime Miami resident passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kansas. Paula was born on November 20, 1955 in Picher, Oklahoma to Joel Holmes and Virginia (Drake) Higgins. On August 12, 1977 Paula married her love of forty three years, David Tedlock. Mrs. Tedlock graduated from Seneca High School before going to NEO A&M College and then to MSSU for her bachelor’s degree Paula worked for Integris Medical Group as Director of Operations. Paula and David were members of the First Christian Church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, Paula liked football and basketball games her favorite teams were Oklahoma State and Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas University Basketball. Mrs. Tedlock also enjoyed going to garage sales and flea markets and to go visit the cows and feed them out of her hand.
Paula was preceded in passing by her parents Joel Holmes and Virginia Higgins and her step father Clyde “Bill” Higgins.
Those left to share Paula’s legacy are her husband David of the home, son Blake Tedlock of Commerce, sisters Sara Ludwick of Roanoke, Virginia, her uncle Gene Holmes and step uncle Bruce Higgins and his wife Joyce along with four brothers and sister in-laws and host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Paula will be 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, January 29, 2021 at First Christian Church in Miami.
There will be a Celebration of Life at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 30, 2021 also at First Christian Church in Miami with Reverend Brian Brubaker officiating. Interment will follow at the Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery in Miami under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami.
Casketbearers will be Kyle Tedlock, John Hadley, Bill McKee and Shawn Hayes.
Honorary Casketbearers will be Mike Hayes and Dr. Steve Grigsby.
The family has asked memorial contributions be made to the First Christian Church Building Fund.
