Patricia Lee Spunaugle's Obituary
Patricia Lee Spunaugle, 86, a longtime resident of rural Bluejacket, OK, went to be with the Lord early Monday morning, April the 7th, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on December the 16th, 1938 in Miami, OK to William Garfield Crow and Nellie Lee (Dukes) Crow. She was a graduate of the Miami High School Class of 1957.
On June the 2nd, 1957, she married the love of her life Jimmy Lee "Jim" Spunaugle in a ceremony in Miami, OK. They made their home in Perry, OK, returning to the Bluejacket/Welch area in 1960.
Pat worked as a department head at the Vinita Wal-Mart for 18 years in the fabric department where she made many lifelong friends, both colleagues and customers. She then worked as a cook for the Bluejacket Public Schools where she enjoyed making her homemade rolls and building relationships with all the students. She was a long time, faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Bluejacket. Pat had a love for Jesus and children and when God laid it on her heart to start a children's church, she did just that. She served the Lord for many years shining his light and impacting countless children along the way. The church could not have a function without her special hot chocolate, which was loved by all and became a mandatory staple.
Her love for Jesus was followed by the love for her family. She loved to have Sunday dinners where she cooked a full course meal for family and any strays that might join, the more the merrier. If you were not there, you'd better have had a good reason for missing. She enjoyed sewing and crafting and doing anything that involved her family. She greatly enjoyed a decades-long tradition of meeting her sisters in Miami every Thursday for lunch followed by a trip to Walmart. Her greatest joy of all was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim, on August 20th, 2012; her parents; her siblings, Bertha Honeycutt, Lloyd Crow, Sonny Crow, Lecretia Ramsey, Marjorie Longan, Andy Crow, Grant Crow, and Gloria B. Crow; her in-laws, Clifton and Mary (Granny) Spunaugle; and three great grandchildren, Silas Hayward, Nevaeh Graham, and Baby Reece,
Those mourning her loss include two children, Teresa Patrick and husband Marty of Welch, and Terry Spunaugle and wife Carla of Miami; three siblings, Dixie McCorkell of Wyandotte, Georgia Sapp of Commerce, and Jack Crow of Miami; sisters in law, Joan Barnett and husband Jr. of VInita, and Ruthina Crow of Anderson, MO; grandchildren, Candace Hayward and husband Dayton, Sheena Reece and husband Kevin, Tyler Spunaugle and wife Ashleigh, Cassandra Graham and husband Gary, and Trenton Spunaugle and wife Leah; great grandchildren, Seth and Sayler Hayward, Jymi, Jaxi, and Jovi Reece, and Kaylee, Mackenlee, and Conlee Graham; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 9th, at the Thomas & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Welch. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April the 10th, at the First Baptist Church in Bluejacket. Pastor Austin Clark will officiate. Burial will follow in the Welch Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
The casket bearers will be Terry, Tyler, and Trenton Spunaugle, Gary Graham, Marty Patrick, Kevin Reece, and Dayton and Seth Hayward. Honorary casket bearers will be Gene Windle, Jerry Harris, Jim Snodderly, Larry McCorkell, Rusty Edwards, Johnny Hurst, Jack Crow, and Jr. Barnett.
"Well done, my good and faithful servant". Matthew 25:21
