Opal Virginia Stephens' Obituary
Opal Virginia Stephens, 95, a long time Ottawa County resident passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Eastwood Manor in Commerce. She was born in Spiro, Oklahoma on November 20, 1928, to TC and Alura (Hoover) Leach. Opal was known as a hard worker her whole life. Opal worked in grocery stores through the years, she also had a Flower Shop she ran out of her home. Opal was an accomplished painter, loved to crochet and loved her cats. Opal married her husband Orval Stephens at his home in commerce in 2003. Preceding her in death are her parents TC and Alura, her husband Orval Stephens, her Grandsons Eric Stephens, and Brandon Stanley.
Those left to share his memory are her sons Kevin Stephens and his wife Sharon, Larry Stephens and his wife Cara, and Steve Betts and his wife Jeanette. His grandchildren include April Fallis, Kevin Bland Jr., Mathew Bland, Starla Martin, and Valarie Blunk. Orval also had a host of great grandkids and four great great grandchildren.
Graveside Services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, April 12, 2024 at Ozark Memorial Park in Joplin, Missouri with Pastor Danny Showden officiating. Services have been placed in the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami.
