Omar Allen Walker's Obituary
Omar Allen Walker, 90, of Bluejacket, Okla., passed away April 4, 2019 at Heartsworth Nursing and Rehab in Vinita. He was born July 29, 1928 in Tulsa, Okla. to Willmont James Walker and Georgia (Epperson) Walker.
Omar was a graduate of Bluejacket High School, Class of 1946. On May 16, 1950, he married Edna Pearl Fry. He worked over 20 years for the State of Oklahoma. After retiring, he spent his time farming his land. He served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He loved to play the guitar, sing gospel music, flower gardening, and poetry. He was a long time member of the Timber Hill Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife and his parents.
He is survived by two sons, Allen Walker and wife Vickie of Bluejacket, and Keevin Walker of Bluejacket; two daughters, Pam Trimble and husband Hugh of Collinsville, and Terry Gerrior and husband Joe of Adair; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
The family will greet friends at the home of Allen and Vickie at 15954 South 4415 Road, Bluejacket, Okla.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019 in the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Welch. Pastors Justin Turner and Dan Weiser will officiate. Serving as casket bearers will be James Chandler, Dennis Dalton, Mike Fry, John Matthews, Bob Rice, and James Schmitt. Honorary casket bearers will be Jack Gearhart and Lester Prayter. Omar will be laid to rest next to his wife in the Bluejacket Cemetery.
