Neva Jean Horner's Obituary
Neva Jean Parker Horner was born to Omer and Lydia Maxine (Wilkins) Parker on February 12, 1931 in rural Welch. She passed away Friday, November 6, 2020 in Miami, OK at the age of 89.
Neva attended Grandview Elementary School and graduated from Welch High School. She then attended the Tulsa Beauty School.
On November 15, 1950, she married Charles "Shorty" Horner in Benton, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2005.
She worked many years as a beautician. After retiring, she spent a lot of time with her family and travelling. She loved fishing, golf, bowling, and playing the organ and piano at the Welch Christian Church, where she was a long time member.
She is survived by two daughters, Debra Baker and Barbara Horner, both of Miami; a son, Marty Horner and wife Julie of Argyle, TX; five grandchildren, Holly Baker Hollon and husband Jim of Commerce, OK, Nick Baker of Jefferson City, MO, Jacqueline Horner Windle and husband David of Argyle, TX, Jessica Horner Ferreri and husband Jordan, of Denton, TX, and Mason Horner of Argyle, TX; along with five cherished great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Neva's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at the Welch Christian Church. Minister Jesse Burns will officiate. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the GAR Cemetery in Miami. ***The family requests masks be worn at the service.
