Myrtle would sub and visit us at Nichols Elementary when I worked as principal there in the late 80s and early 90s. She was a jewel! Everyone loved her. Condolences to her family and friends.

Myrtle was my third grade teacher at Nichols as well as my Sunday School teacher. She was the first person to explain to me why curly hair and straight hair were different shapes under the microscope. Myrtle and I both had curly hair. She made me feel so happy that I would go to her Sunday School room before my class began to visit with her. I have been visiting with her for over 50 years and she still gave me a hug and a beautiful smile every time I saw her. She made my widowed dad smile at church when he was feeling lonely and he always passed on any news of Myrtle when I talked to him. if it is possible, Heaven is a happier place now and I am certain many souls there were thrilled to see her.

Miss Myrtle lived around the corner from us when I was a kid. She was a good friend to my grandmother and my mom. I remember her bringing us Happy Meals when my Uncle Brian was killed. I loved seeing her at the Church of Christ and in the neighborhood all my life. She will be missed.

I remember Myrtle as a volunteer for many years at Miami Integris Hospital. I worked as cashier for years in the cafeteria and Myrtle and her volunteer friends were my regular customers. We always enjoyed visiting and laughing as they ate in the dining room. I cant believe we aged so much since that time. Rest in peace, Myrtle. I'll see you again soon.
