Myrl E. Archer's Obituary
Longtime resident of Miami, Oklahoma Mrs. Myrl E. Archer passed away in Miami on February 6, 2009 at the age of 88 years.
Myrl was born January 24, 1921 in Afton, Oklahoma to her parents Thomas and Zella Worley Eagle. On December 31, 1939 Thurmond Archer took Miss Myrl Eagle as his bride in Columbus, Kansas. She and Thurmond have enjoyed their lives together in Miami ever since. Myrl was a longtime and dedicated member of Miami First Christian Church. She loved to garden and was a standing member of the garden club. Myrl would enter her prized Iris’s in gardening shows and has won many awards. She was also a vital member of the Dodson Museum. Myrl loved her dearest companion Butchey, her chiwawa, dearly.
Although she is no longer with us, her memory will be kept alive through the family and friends she leaves behind which include:
1 Daughter: Theresa and husband Allen Monchil of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and 1 Sister: Bobbye Meador of Austin, Texas.
Myrl is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband: Thurmond Archer, 1 Son: John Archer.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM, Monday February 9, 2009 at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Leon Weece officiating. Interment will follow the service at GAR Cemetery. Viewing will be Sunday February 8, 2009 from 1-5 PM at the Funeral Home.
