Melinda Jane Sharpe's Obituary
Melinda Jane "Mickey" Sharpe, 56, of Modesto, CA, passed away at her home March 10, 2019 after a lengthy illness. She was born September 11, 1962 at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Oklahoma to Edward J. L'Roy and Edna (McRae) L'Roy.
After graduating high school, she went to Nursing School where she received her Associates Degree in Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse. After becoming an RN, she took her skills on the road as a traveling nurse. She was quite successful and made many friends in the process. She was retired from Kaiser Permente in Modesto, where she was Assistant Nurse Manager of the Intensive Care Unit.
She loved her children and grandchildren. In her spare time, she loved traveling, reading, video games, fishing, and in her younger years, riding horses was her favorite hobby.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by two daughters, Brandy Kenyon and husband Mike of Claremore, OK, and Jenny Ross of Modesto, CA; two sisters, Gayla Honey and husband J.D. of Catoosa, OK, and Lisa Winfrey and husband Glen of Bluejacket, OK; three grandchildren, Gavin Gary Ross, Michelle Renae Kenyon, and Michael Lane Kenyon; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2019 at the Bluejacket Cemetery.
