Maybelle Archdale's Obituary
Longtime resident of Miami, Oklahoma Mrs. Maybelle Archdale passed from this life into eternity on November 6, 2011 in Joplin, Missouri at the age of 85 years. Maybelle was born February 22, 1926 to her parents Ervin and Erma Fay (Mayhew) Thomas in Monett, Missouri.
On November 12, 1947 Mr. Robert Archdale took Miss Maybelle Thomas as his bride in Billings, Missouri. Maybelle and Robert have lived in the Miami area for over 60 years. She loved being a home maker and caring for her husband and her boys. Maybelle invested many hours with her son’s activities in their high school and college days. She truly loved traveling with the band. Maybelle ran Magic Wand Car Wash on Central and F Ave. for many years as well. She enjoyed watching car races and living life to its fullest.
Although Maybelle is no longer with us, her memory and legacy will be kept alive through the family and friends she leaves behind which include her 2 sons: Gene and wife Emily Archdale of Catoosa, Oklahoma, Carl Archdale of Miami, Oklahoma, 1 sister: Betty Brandt of Monett, Missouri and a host of longtime friends and neighbors. Maybelle is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 63 years and 1 brother.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday November 10, 2011at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Monett, Missouri with Pastor Tom Brandt officiating. The family will be receiving friends for visitation on Wednesday November 9, 2011 from 6-8 PM at the funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association or the American Kidney Association. Services are under the care and direction of Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home
