Mata Caroline Beauchamp's Obituary
Mata Caroline Beauchamp, 95, of Miami passed away at Freeman Health System in Joplin, Missouri on July 4, 2016. Caroline was born on April 14, 1921 in Cardin, Oklahoma to Lloyd Virgil and Gladys Irene (Lindsey) Newton. Mrs. Beauchamp has lived in Miami since 1926. She married Herbert Beauchamp in Pensacola, Florida on June 3, 1944. She worked as a school teacher for the Miami Public School System for twenty-eight years. Caroline was a member of First Christian Church, she was also a member of Kappa Kappa Iota, Miami Garden Club and Friends of the Library. She loved spending time at the lake, and attending her great grandchildrens soccer, basketball, softball and t-ball games. Her parents Gladys and Lloyd Newton, her husband Herbert Beauchamp and a grandson Michael Sweeney preceded her in passing.
Survivors include her daughters Jan Allan Allton and husband Tom of Miami and Sara Lynn Smith and husband Wayne of Grove, her grandchildren Kimberly Arnold of Oilton, Oklahoma, Jennifer Fairres and Jill Walther both of Miami, Shawn Smith of Oklahoma City, Mikal Smith of Joplin and Andrea Farley of Bates City, Missouri, thirteen great grandchildren and one cousin Ed Rutledge of Spokane, Washington.
Graveside services will be 10:30 AM on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery in Miami with Pastors Brian Brubaker and Leon Weece officiating. Services are in the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami.
The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the First Christian Church in Miami.
