Mary Ann Tullis' Obituary
Mary Ann Tullis, a lifelong resident of Welch, OK, passed away Wednesday, January 10th, 2024, at her home, after a period of declining health. She was 85 years old.
She was born in Welch on July 1st, 1938, to Jesse Merle Anderson and Mary E. (Baunhofer) Anderson. She attended the rural Rogers School, northwest of Welch, through the 8th grade. She then attended Welch Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1956.
On January 18th, 1957, she married Kenneth Wayne Tullis in a ceremony in Commerce, OK. They made their home in Welch where they raised their two children. She loved hunting for arrowheads, playing Bingo, watching game shows, and visiting with other local women during her weekly appointment at Rhonda's Beauty Shop. She was a member of the Cherokee Nation and the Delaware Tribe of Indians.
She is preceded in death by her husband on September 23rd, 1998; her parents; and a brother, C.J. Anderson.
She is survived by her two children, Konnie Morgan and husband V.O. of rural Welch, and Kenneth Merle Tullis, also of Welch; two grandchildren, Kerry Morgan of Edmond, OK, and Dusty Morgan of rural Welch; two great grandchildren, Dexton Morgan and Mersayde Morgan; and four nephews, Charles, Stephen, Scott, and Ronnie Anderson.
The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Friday, January 12th, 2024, at the Thomas & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Welch. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 13th, also at the Funeral Home. Greg Highsmith will officiate. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Walker Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Dusty Morgan, Stevie Davis, Stan Eller, Brad Mount, Tim Smith, and Bryan Elliott,
