Mary Louise Riley's Obituary
Mary Louise Riley, a longtime resident of rural Welch, OK, passed away Friday, September 1st, 2023, at Integris Miami Hospital after a period of declining health. She was 92 years old.
She was born March 18th, 1931, in Miami, OK to Charles Seibert and Elva (Donohue) Seibert. She was a graduate of Welch High School. On January 3rd, 1953, she married Gerald Riley in a ceremony in Welch. They made their home northeast of Welch where they raised their children and ran a farming and ranching operation.
She was a hardworking lady. She worked as a beautician, then as a bus driver for Welch Public Schools, in the kitchen at Eastern State Hospital, and lastly, at the Hitchin Post Café, where she made the hot rolls daily. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, canning, and baking hot rolls and desserts. You could be assured after every meal, a pie or cake would follow for dessert.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Kathy Mayfield; and a son in law, Jimmy Moss.
She is survived by three children, Calvin Riley and wife Trena, Janene Moss, and Aaron Riley, all of Welch; a sister, Linda Sue Morris of Bluejacket; eight grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 6th, 2023, at Walker Cemetery, northwest of Welch. Chaplain Alan Barnes will officiate.
