Mary Edith Lawson's Obituary
Mary Edith Lawson, 87, a Miami resident passed away at Eastwood Manor in Commerce, Oklahoma on July 20, 2016. She was born on January 26, 1929 in Miami to Albert Leslie and Hannah Cansada (Utter) Patton. Mary was a homemaker who loved her family; they played a lot of games and did jigsaw puzzles. She enjoyed reading the Bible, gospel music; she enjoyed embroidery and teaching the family. Mrs. Lawson was a member of the Peoria Assembly of God where she was very active and led the music. Mary was preceded in passing by her parents Albert and Hannah Patton, her husband Herbert Lawson, a daughter Phyllis Lawson Green, seven siblings Ben, Ray, Junior, John and Virgil Patton, Norma Williams and Esther Tucker.
Survivors include her daughter Charlotte Carder, her son-in-law Larry Green, two brothers Orville Patton, and Max Patton, grandchildren Diana Nemlowill and Husband Dan, Keith Green and his wife Amber, Kevin Carder and his wife Tanya, Chauntelle Harding and her Husband Shannon and David Green and his wife Kelly, her great grandchildren, Gregory Carder and Haley, Jonathan Whitaker and Jaylenn, Chadee Gildner and Anthony, Wesley Whitaker, Grant Carder, Addy Carder, Cole Green, Jade Green, Sierra Green, Eli Green and Aaron Green and one great-great grandson Jax Carder.
Services were 10:00 AM Saturday, July 23, 2016 at the First Assembly of God in Miami with Reverend Menno Miller and Reverend Dan Nemlowill officiating. Interment was at Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery in Miami under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral home and Cremation Service of Miami.
