Mary Margaret Irby's Obituary
Mary Margaret (Monroe) Irby, 84, a resident of Miami, Oklahoma, but longtime resident of Idabel, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at Miami Integris Hospital on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Mary was born in Pensacola, Florida, on December 11, 1940, to Buster and Margaret (Wooten) Monroe. After graduating High School in 1959, Mary went to work at the First State Bank of Idabel. After ten years Mary transferred to the American State Bank in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, where she worked as an E.D. Officer until her retirement. She was proud to have been a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary where she served as the President and was also honored to serve as Page at the Oklahoma State Senate. Mary will always be remembered for her love of her community as well as her country. Mary is preceded in passing by her parents Buster and Margaret Monroe, her brother, Bruce Monroe, and her sister, Marsha Monroe.
Those left to share the beautiful memories of Mary include her daughters, Reba Buchovecky of Clarksville, Texas, Shari Booth of Miami, Oklahoma, Regina Johnson of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, and Yevonne Bargsten of Muskogee, Oklahoma, brothers include, Jim Monroe of Scottsdale, Arizona and W. Lance Webb of The Woodlands, Texas, one sister, Melody Chapman of McAlester, Oklahoma, five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Mary’s wishes were for cremation. There will be a private family memorial service at a later date. Services have been placed in the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami, Oklahoma.
