Mary Louise Holden's Obituary
Mary Louise (Iverson) Holden, 88, a longtime resident of Fairland, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Mary was born in San Diego, California, to Noble and Delores (Chapman) Iverson, on June 29, 1936. Mary married James Leroy Young in 1953. She and James would have three children. James passed away in 1985 in an accident. She would go on to marry Homer “Hap” Holden in 1990. They would spend many years together until Homer passed away in 2008. During Mary’s life she worked as a meat butcher in many different places. While the children were growing up, she enjoyed teaching all the neighborhood children to swim. After retirement she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, painting, and spending time in church. Mary is preceded in passing by her husbands, James Young and Homer Holden, her parents, Noble and Delores Iverson, and her son, Steve Lee Young.
Mary is survived by her son, Michael Roy Young and his wife Terrie, her daughter, Darlene Castalana and her husband Robert of California, and her siblings, Dan, Grace, and Loraine.
There will be a memorial service for Mrs. Holden at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Fairland First United Methodist Church, with Reverend Tim Mixon officiating.
Services have been placed in the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairland.
