Mary Linda Chandler's Obituary
Mary Linda Chandler, 69, of Chelsea, Okla., passed away early Monday morning, March 20, 2017 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, after a short illness. She was born August 20, 1947 in Fairland, Okla. to James P. Allen and Wilma Lorene (Matney) Allen. On March 1, 1968, she was united in marriage to Preston Abe Chandler in Miami, Okla. From this union, three children were born. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for over 30 years at Eastern State Hospital in Vinita before retiring. She then was able to spend more time enjoying her favorite hobbies, baking and reading. Not too long ago, she learned how to use Facebook, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She attended the Timberhill Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 brothers, Raymond Dale Allen and James Lee Allen, and 2 grandchildren, Kyla Leann Hurst and Emmett Preston Chandler. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Hurst and husband Keith of Chelsea, Okla.; 2 sons, James Chandler and wife Tina of Vinita, Okla., and Kevin Chandler and wife Connie of Tahlequah, Okla.; one sister, Judy Freed of Vinita, Okla.; 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a very special friend, Jerry Blue of Chelsea, Okla. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at the Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Welch. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the Timberhill Baptist Church. Pastor Dan Weiser will officiate. She will be laid to rest in the Bluejacket Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Mitch Armstrong, David Chandler, Brandon Gaines, Shawn Hilton, Clayton Hurst, and Jerry Guy.
