Dr. Malcolm C. Goodrich's Obituary
Dr. Malcolm C. Goodrich, 87, a longtime area Veterinarian, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026. Malcolm was born on December 7, 1938, in Columbus, Kansas, to Clifford C. and Arlene (York) Goodrich. Mr. Goodrich graduated from Columbus High School with the Class of 1956, then went on to attain his bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University and then graduated from Kansas State’s Veterinary School in 1964. Dr. Goodrich entered the United States Army and worked in the Vet Corps. On September 11, 1965, in Baxter Springs, Kansas, he married the love of his life, Linda Wood.
They moved to Miami in 1966, where he established the veterinary center and built it into a three-man practice. In 1978, he retired from the Veterinary practice to work on his cattle ranch. In 1988, he began working for the USDA.
He and Linda were longtime members of the First Christian Church in Miami, and he was very active through the years, serving as Deacon, Secretary of the Board, and Finance Committee Chair for the building addition, and Sunday School Teacher.
Malcolm enjoyed hunting trips to Colorado and collecting and restoring antique buggies, carriages, and wagons. He and Linda traveled most of the continental United States, including Alaska, visited Japan, and he was also able to travel and see the Goodrich Castle in England. Dr. Goodrich was preceded in passing by his parents, Clifford and Arlene Goodrich.
Those who will share Malcolm’s legacy are his wife of sixty years, Linda Goodrich, of the home; his children, Kendra Kelly and her husband, Trevor, of Edmond; Jeff Goodrich and his wife, Jennifer, of Edmond; along with his grandchildren, McKenleigh Kelly, Carson Kelly, Grace Goodrich, and Amelia Goodrich. Also surviving are his brother Marcus Goodrich and his wife Ann of Wichita Falls, Texas.
There will be a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at First Christian Church in Miami's Chapel. Interment will follow at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Kansas. Services have been placed in the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami.
