Maggie Adelle Williamson's Obituary
Maggie Adelle Williamson, 94, of Miami, OK, passed from this life on September 21, 2023, peacefully at home surrounded by family. She was born May 19, 1929, in Overbrook, KS to Dan and Millie (Long) Arnold.
Maggie married Charles Williamson on July 15, 1946, in Oswego, KS. He preceded her in death on October 3, 2019. She worked at various jobs until they purchased the Welch Locker Plant in the fall of 1964 where she worked with Charles for several years. They made their home in Welch, OK, until 1981 when they moved to Miami. Maggie and Charles loved to travel and enjoyed finding many unique collectables including glass slippers. Maggie had one of the largest collections of glass slippers in the country. Over the years she spent much of her time making quilts for her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, putting puzzles together, and reading. She was an active member of the First Christian Church in Miami.
Maggie is preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, six sisters, and a great granddaughter, Kaylee Walls. She is survived by a daughter, Karen Mead and husband Dewayne of Miami, OK, twins, Rick Williamson of Oswego, KS and Vicky Chaney of Miami; two sisters, Margaret Pliler and Dannell Willim, both of Miami; ten grandchildren, Kimberly Douglas of Wichita, KS, Wade Walls of Miami, Scott Walls of Seneca, MO, Todd Walls of Broken Arrow, Kevin Williamson of Norman, Cody Williamson of Goldsby, OK, Jarrod Chaney of rural Bluejacket, Nicole Chaney of Claremore, Jessica Davenport of Adair, and JoDee Liptak of Bixby; 17 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held in the Chapel of the First Christian Church in Miami from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, September 24. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, September 25, also at First Christian Church in Miami. Greg Highsmith and Lance Corter will officiate.
She will be laid to rest in the Williams Timberhill Cemetery, west of Miami. Grandsons will serve as casket bearers.
Services are entrusted to the Thomas & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Welch.
