Mae Fugate's Obituary
Lifelong Welch, Oklahoma resident, Mae Fugate, 98, passed away February 4, 2014 at Heartsworth Center for Nursing in Vinita. She was born in Welch, Ok to Ira and Molly (Fields) Thomas. She was an avid homemaker and enjoyed cooking and telling stories with her family and friends. She was proud of her family and cherished the times spent together. Mae was also very talented in crocheting. She made countless blankets and gifts for those she loved. She was a member of the Welch Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 granddaughter, Janice Swango Singleton; 3 brothers; 4 sisters; and son-in-law, Andrew Lee "Buddy" Swango. She is survived by 1 son, Ira C. Willis and wife Camelia of Vinita; 1 daughter, Donna Raus of Welch; grandson-in-law, Ron Singleton of Grove; 5 grandchildren, Carol (Swango) Webb and husband Mike of Big Cabin, Susan (Swango) Woolman and husband Roy of Vinita, Dewayne Willis of Vinita, Susan Parker of Vinita, and Gary Ray Willis and wife Emily of Seattle, WA; 16 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great grandchildren; numerous family members; and a host of friends. There will be a visitation for family and friends from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the Thomas Funeral Home, Welch. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2014 at the Thomas Funeral Home, Welch. Minister Brad Canham will officiate. Family will serve as pallbearers. Interment at Williams Timberhill Cemetery, East of Welch, OK.
