Mae Farrier's Obituary
Henrietta Mae Farrier, 94, a longtime, well respected former business owner, of Miami, OK, passed away March 10, 2016 at her home. She was born August 20, 1921 in Missouri to Thomas Snelling and Ida Mae (Downing) Snelling. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. She also attended NEO A&M where she studied business courses. She was married to F.E. "Mutt" Farrier for many years. He preceded her in death. For many years, she and Mutt owned and operated Farrier's Grocery Store in Miami. They also co-owned Farrier's Market in Grove along with Mutt's brother, Lyle. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Miami where she served as a greeter for many years. Mae loved to go to church. She also had a love for painting china. She was a joy to all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her husband and parents. She is survived by four nieces, Lynn Farrier of Miami, Jan Farrier Kimbrough of Joplin, MO, Janie Moudy of Commerce, and Sue Valliere of Fairland; many great-nieces and nephews; and her dear friends and caretakers, Phyllis and Doug Smith. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2016 at the First Assembly of God Church in Miami. Pastor Raymond Frizzelle will officiate. Pallbearers will be Cecil Jones, Dr. Cotton, Charles Stoner, Dennis Watson, Steve Whitesell, and Jim Kimbrough. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the First Assembly of God Church Building Fund, 1815 East Steve Owens Blvd, Miami, OK 74354.
